I am at the 19th NASSCOM India Leadership Forum. My day started early with a CEO-breakfast led by Michael Rogers, Futurist-in-Residence with the New York Times. I liked his characterization of this decade as the a?Teensa?, i.e. lots of growth, maturation but also growing pains. My day ended listening to some wonderful chess metaphors coined by Grandmaster Vishwanathan Anandas, which I found were so relevant for life as well as business.

Throughout the first day of this event, I experienced a clear sense of resurgence resonating across discussions within and outside sessions. Enthused by the surety of american drugs online no prescription. the global economic recovery, industry is now busy focusing on identifying growth drivers of this decade. Interestingly, a cross-section of business leadership identified inclusive growth, as one of the key platforms for the IT industry to grow profitably in geographies such as India.

While pondering more on todayas discussions, I found that NASSCOMas growth mantra of – Innovate, Redesign and Reinvent can come in very handy to achieve a robust Internal Rate of Return, as we connect and grow with millions of Indians located in villages and remote locations.

I strongly believe that the power of technology will come to our aid in a big way to achieve our goals. Itas time we exploit the true strength of technology to design innovative leap-frog solutions. These solutions could be in the form of profitable business models to include large swaths of youth from tier 3 and tier 4 cities into our future workforce. We will need to launch scalable learning platforms to transform rural spaces into thriving learning centres towards developing robust talent pipelines. As pointed out by noted management thinker Soumitra Dutta from INSEAD, we will also have to find new ways to use innovation as a process to inspire youth to join our companies in our journey of inclusive growth.

To unleash the power of innovation, performance culture and processes within IT-BPO firms will have to be reinvented and redesigned innovate disruptively. Our teams will have to engage with unorthodox methods to collect and dissect data. New capabilities will have to be built to identify the right demand drivers. Our minds will have to tick differently to identify appropriate solutions that can empower individuals remotely. As rightly pointed in the inaugural session, industry leaders will have to gather a?couragea? and will have to be more a?empathetica? to roll out such an ambitious agenda.

All this indeed calls for a big mindset change. Letas ask ourselves if we are ready to play this big game.
