The search for emerging verticals continues……

Am still searching for ideas on emerging verticals, well after attending a session supposedly meant to give the audience some examples of relatively undiscovered verticals.

It was probably the most disappointing session I attended in NILF 2009 – the main problem was that one of the speakers did not have any idea about the topic- being from the Procurement division of a large telecom service provider (BT) and though the other, Chief Innovation Officer, CSC was provocative, he did not touch upon the vertical dimesnion at all. On the contrary, he argued that verticals were not a relevant dimension to study market trends and look at opportunities for growth.

Personally, I did not get any value out of the session and from the number of people that made their exit midway, I guess there were many others who did not either.
